Here are too images, the one on the left is the original image and the one on the right has some nice crunchy pop to it.
There is a really easy technique to get this pop with just a few clicks. You can even write your own action and create it at will.
The technique is easy:
1. Duplicate Layer
2. Change layer style to overlay (as seen in the layers palette above)
3. Use the fill and change to your desired percentage. I used 50% here.
If you want a bit more pop you can even do a smart sharpen. This image, has a bit too much red in the face. Just use the history brush to erase over the face.
