How did you get started in photography?
My dad gave me my first SLR when I was about 11. It was totally addictive.
Who have been your influences in photography?
Irving Penn and Richard Avedon
What is one thing that has helped you grow your business?
Having a great marketer push me forward. (Tim Uhl)
What is one thing that has helped you grow as an artist?
Letting go of the fear that I might not be able to do something and trying anyway. If it doesnt work out the way I hoped I always learn and grow from the experience.
What is one failure that helped you grow as a business person/artist?
The first time I tried to do a conceptual shoot. I never got the shot that I saw in my head. I learned SO much from that shoot and ended up with some beautiful images anyway.
What is one piece of advice that you would give to a person that is in the first few years of their photography business?
Believe in yourself and Embrace your failures. They are only failures if you dont learn anything from them. Not only accept critique, but seek it out. Don’t take it personal, but really take the opportunity to take that advice and apply it.
