This is an awesome tip for creating a nice window pane effect. You can merge one single image across multiple image boxes. I use Grid Maker to design a layout and hit Enhance Design>Merge Selected to put the separate masks into one group mask. Click Fill Opening and put an image in there and presto! Go ahead and manipulate the spacing and play with key lines for different effects.
