Popping out/Placing images for editing

Need to retouch an image in your spread? We've got you covered. Pop/Return images will allow you to pop out an image, edit it, and return it to the spread without adjusting the original image. Here is how.

Select the image you want to adjust.

Once you have your layout, and start adding images, select the image from the layers palette that you would like to adjust.

use "Pop out images"

Click "Pop Out Images" to open the selected image in a new tab or window.

Selections, selections

After choosing "Pop Out Images", you will be shown a options menu.
You can choose to either "Pop Selected", which will open the temporary file and allow you to edit without actually making changes to the original.
Or, you can choose "Open Originials", in which case you would be working with the oringial image. More on this option in the next lesson.

Pop Selected

In this example, I chose "Pop Selected" because I did not want to alter the original file. As you can see, a new window has been opened with the selected image. Edit the picture, add filters, do anything you want to the picture. Once your finished, you can pop the image back into your spread.

Placing your images back into your spread.

As you can see, I have made changes to the popped out image. After making the changes, you need to click the "Return Images" button to pop your edited image back into your spread.

(NOTE: YOU CAN DO THIS ON MULTIPLE IMAGES)

WAM! You're done!

There you go! Now your image is back in the spread with the changes you made. The best part? You didn't touch the original file at all. The changes are only in your spread. How cool is that!?
